Eleanor Miller – Senior Data Manager

Eleanor joined the ADVANCE team as senior data manager in July 2021. Her role involves overseeing the organisation, storage, and handling of all ADVANCE data.

Eleanor completed her PhD in Population Genetics at the University of Cambridge in 2019. During this period her research primarily focused on demographic reconstructions of populations through time. She then worked as a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Cambridge for two years, continuing to use computational methods to explore population dynamics of different species.

Susie Schofield – Medical Statistician

Susie joined the Section of Occupational and Environmental Respiratory Disease at the National Heart and Lung Institute (NHLI) as a medical statistician in 2006. Since then she has worked on a wide range of studies including large birth cohorts and cross-sectional study designs. Before joining Imperial College, Susie undertook her BSc in Mathematics and Statistics at Newcastle University, followed by an MSc in Medical Statistics at Manchester University.

Her role on the ADVANCE Study, as a medical statistician, is to undertake analysis of the information and data collected from the study participants, to provide statistical advice and training to members of the study team, and to assist in the writing of manuscripts arising from the study.

Stefan Sprinckmöller – Database Manager

Stefan joined the ADVANCE Study in August 2021 as a database manager. His role is to further develop electronic tools for ADVANCE data collection and analysis and to ensure data quality checks and the safe storage of data.

Stefan completed his B.A. degree in Political Science and History in 2017 and his Master of Public Administration (M.P.A) degree in 2018 at Clark University. He is passionate about how data, research, and policy can inform and drive change.

Before joining ADVANCE, Stefan worked as research coordinator for the MISSION-Cape and MISSION-BMetro co-occurring treatment projects at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in the US and most recently as a data manager leading the data collection of several clinical studies at the Intensive Care National Audit & Research Centre (ICNARC) in the UK.

Lalji Varsani – Database Analyst

Lalji Varsani headshot

Lalji joined the ADVANCE team as database analyst in April 2019. As an IT professional for many years, he has a broad range of project management and technical skills specialising in relational database technologies such as Oracle and MS SQL Server hosted on Windows and UNIX platforms.
