Data Team
Eleanor Miller
Senior Data Manager
Eleanor joined the ADVANCE team as senior data manager in July 2021. Her role involves overseeing the organisation, storage, and handling of all ADVANCE data. Eleanor completed her PhD in Population Genetics at the University of Cambridge in 2019. During this period her research primarily focused on demographic reconstructions of populations through time. She then worked as a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Cambridge for two years, continuing to use computational methods to explore population dynamics of different species.
Susie Schofield
Medical Statistician
Susie joined the Section of Occupational and Environmental Respiratory Disease at the National Heart and Lung Institute (NHLI) as a medical statistician in 2006. Since then she has worked on a wide range of studies including large birth cohorts and cross-sectional study designs. Before joining Imperial College, Susie undertook her BSc in Mathematics and Statistics at Newcastle University, followed by an MSc in Medical Statistics at Manchester University. Her role on the ADVANCE Study, as a medical statistician, is to undertake analysis of the information and data collected from the study participants, to provide statistical advice and training to members of the study team, and to assist in the writing of manuscripts arising from the study.
Owen Walker
Data Manager
Owen joined ADVANCE in November 2022 as a data manager and brings with him a wealth of data management experience from healthcare and industry settings. He completed his Master's in Natural Sciences at the University of Bath in 2016, and his first job after his degree was in the laboratory at Royal Papworth Hospital. Owen enjoys making processes more efficient and reliable, and this later led him to manage data relating to medical devices when Papworth moved to its current Cambridge site. In 2019 Owen joined Qlearsite, an employee engagement company, and spent three years working as a data analyst. There he learned to work with survey data and collaborate on data tasks.
