ADVANCE-CIRCUIT

Combat Injury-Related Challenges to Sexual Intimacy

The ADVANCE-CIRCUIT study is a subsidiary of the core ADVANCE study. This study has one overarching aim: that individuals who sustain occupational injuries which lead to the development of sexual dysfunction are enabled to live the most fulfilling lives possible.

Using questionnaire and interview data from ADVANCE participants, in combination with workshops with support service providers, the findings from the ADVANCE-CIRCUIT study will be used to:

  • Provide accurate prevalence data on sexual dysfunction longitudinally;
  • Report on the risk factors and mental health outcomes associated with combat injury-related sexual dysfunction;
  • Report on the experiences, help-seeking behaviours and support needs of those with this condition.
  • Inform a population-centred, evidence-based health systems response.

ADVANCE-CIRCUIT is a PhD project led by Anna Verey and supervised by Dr Danni Lamb, Professor Jo Billings and Dr Dan Dyball.
