It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the death of Professor Nicola Fear. Nicola was a founding member of the ADVANCE Study Project Board, and we will be among the very many who miss her.
Nicola was a world-leading expert in military epidemiology and a pillar of the research community. She dedicated her career to understanding and improving the lives of veterans, service personnel, and the wider armed forces community.
We remember her as a committed, compassionate and highly professional colleague, always ready to offer an insightful and balanced opinion. In many ways she is irreplaceable and we mourn the loss of a brilliant academic and dear friend. Her legacy will include the continuing work of ADVANCE; through its findings the positive impact Nicola had on injured service personnel and their families will continue for years to come.
Our thoughts are with her family, her colleagues at King’s College London, and everyone who had the privilege of working with her.
